Time spent in childcare is “prime time”.
The time spent in child care is the time when young children’s brains are actively developing their intellectual, social, emotional, and physical skills. Some programs offer part-time preschool followed by “child care” in the afternoon, but the reality is that children are growing and learning throughout the day, regardless of where they are located. Early care and education are inseparable. All of the time spent in early care and education should be “quality time” and in the company of adults who are skilled, knowledgeable, and nurturing.
