Hey Hey Galva-Holstein Parents-
Just a reminder that Open House for the Galva-Holstein Preschool is tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24th, from 4:00pm to 5:30. We will be taking preschool registrations all this week! Please see attached flyer for more information.

Claire from New Opportunities presented "Prime for Life" to Ridge View 8th graders! She shared great information about life choices and decisions. We appreciate Claire sharing her knowledge with us!

**ELITE RAPTOR ALERT**

Yesterday was the Western Valley Conference Art Show. Each school is allowed to submit 50 works of art. Ridge View brought home 35 total awards (ribbons and medals).

Art is divided into 8 categories (painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, photography, digital media, sculpture and ceramics). We brought home 7 medals for placing within the top 3 of each category.

Mrs. Grieme's 3rd grade classroom shared their Celebration of Learning with the 5th grade today after they finished reading Peter Pan. In a comic strip format, students had to narrate and illustrate an addition adventure building off the events from the book! Great stories share by all today!

Continuing with a focus this year on agriculture lessons in the classroom, we had a visit from the Seed Survivor mobile classroom by Nutrien visit on Monday. Students got to get their hands dirty learning about agriculture in Iowa and surrounding areas. They played games learning about technology and nutrients. Thank you for visiting Schaller Crestland. Mrs. Todd’s science class wrapped up their chemical reactions unit in the best way possible…by baking chocolate chip cookies! 🍪

Students explored how ingredients transform through chemical reactions—mixing, heating, and observing changes firsthand. From dough to delicious, they saw science come to life right in the classroom.

Hands-on learning like this not only builds understanding, it makes it stick (and taste pretty great too). Nice work, Mrs. Todd and students! 👏

As an entry "fee" to yesterday's talent show, canned goods were collected for local food pantries. Way to represent the S for service in our CLAWS up initiative!

A couple more first place shout outs from BVU! The girls 4x4 of Hannah, Cora, Reese and Shea with a 4:24 and Derek in the long jump, with a jump of 20-10.

**ELITE STAFF SHOUT OUT**

The Schaller-Crestland district is losing one of a kind! Tami has been so much more than the person behind the meals—she has been a steady source of kindness, positivity, and encouragement for everyone who walked through the lunch line. Her warm smile, fun spirit, and genuine care for others made our school a better place every single day.

Tami, thank you for the countless ways you’ve supported our students and lifted up our staff. You will be deeply missed, but we are so excited for this next chapter in your life. Wishing you all the joy and relaxation you deserve during retirement! 💙

The week of March 23rd-March 27th, Galva-Holstein 4th, 5th and 6th grade students will be having a food drive to help support the local food pantry. Please bring your non-perishable items to the Galva School office to help support the cause!
