Earlier this week, sophomore Brynlee Grieme attended the 2026 World Food Prize - Iowa Youth Institute hosted on the campus of Iowa State University.
Developed in 2011, the Iowa Youth Institute is a program organized by the World Food Prize Foundation where students from across Iowa conduct research and explore real-world global food challenges and solutions. Brynlee’s paper investigated water scarcity in Chile, organizing original research to examine the complex factors that influence unequal water distribution across the nation’s diverse regions.
Following opening presentations from World Food Prize CEO Tom Vilsack, Governor Kim Reynolds, Iowa State University President David Cook, and Iowa State Head Football Coach Jimmy Rogers, Brynlee had the opportunity to collaborate with Iowa State professors, experts in food insecurity, and students from across the state to present her solutions.
For her research and presentation, Brynlee was recognized as a Borlaug Scholar and awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Iowa State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Raptor Nation: Yesterday's confrence golf meet have been rescheduled for the confrence rain date scheduled at 4PM on 4/30/26. The Ridge View boys will play in Sloan and the Ridge View girls will play in Mapleton. #CLAWSUP

The home track meet scheduled for Tuesday, 4/7 has been canceled and the boys and girls away golf meets have been postponed to a date yet to be determined. Next Tuesday, April 14th we will honor our senior track and golf athletes at the home track meet. More details to come closer to the date.

On Friday, February 20, students from Anatomy, Animal Science, and AFNR got to have a presentation from Valley Vet Center veterinarian, Dr. Tyler Oberreuter. Students got to experience a calf dissection to see first-hand the internal workings of a calf. It was a great hands-on look about what they have been learning in class! Thank you, Dr. Tyler Oberreuter!
Miss Dausel's Anatomy students have been studying the nervous system and the brain in class, and got to do a sheep brain dissection to test their knowledge!
